Pieter Harmensz Verelst (1618, Dordrecht – 1688, Dordrecht or Hulst), was a Dutch Golden Age painter.
According to the RKD he was a pupil of Gerard Dou and Jacob Gerritsz Cuyp.[1] In 1638 he became a member of the Dordrecht Guild of St. Luke and in 1656 one of the founders of the Confrerie Pictura.[1] His pupils were Hermanus van Grevenbroeck, Anthony de Haen, Otto Hoynck, Hendrik Mony, Gabriel Siebrick, and his sons Herman, Johannes, and Simon Pietersz Verelst.[1] He is known mostly for genre paintings of Dutch and Italian village life.[1] He moved in the 1670's to Hulst where he became a brewer.[1]
